Historical Portfolio

I have been a private share market investor since 2003.

Below is the historical overview of my portfolio from 2003 until 2012, at which time I sold down my portfolio to fund a start-up.

These results are from prior to beginning SharedInvestor.co, if you are a member you can view the current portfolios I started building again in 2014/15 here.

Overall Performance of all Investments

As I used borrowed money and continually reinvested both my own savings and dividends I don’t have the exact records of my capital flows for between 2003 – 2012 easily available. So it is close to impossible for me to provide an exact average annual return figure.

I have however run a few rough calculations based on cash savings invested vs capital held at sale of all investments in 2012.

My rough estimate is that my investments returned about 575% (or 21 – 24% p/a) on the savings invested from 2003 – 2012.

Investments By Volume of Profit or Loss

Volume weighted returns as a ratio of all investments from 2003 – 2012.

The ‘y’ axis figures are a derivative of the capital received at sale of the investment. For example, FLT returned 75 as relative to TIM costing -15.
